On May 9th Community High Juniors visited The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum at Pier 86, W 46th St, New York, NY. The museum hosts multiple ships, each with a proud history.

The first stop on our professionally guided tour was the museum's flagship, the aircraft carrier The USS Intrepid. The ship fought in the Pacific Theater during World War II, through the Vietnam War, and beyond.

We also visited the USS Growler, the first nuclear-armed submarine.

Finally, students toured the Space Shuttle Enterprise, the NASA prototype that paved the way for the Space Shuttle Program.

Our students greatly deepened their understanding of US History had fun while doing it!
