The Career Discovery program’s trip to the Teaneck Police Department, located in Teaneck, New Jersey, allowed our students to explore a career in law enforcement.
A police officer’s daily task would be maintaining orders to keep their community safe. A typical day of a police officer is assisting in emergency scenes, responding to burglaries, and monitoring the roadways. This could include handling accidents and stopping cars for traffic violations. For every incident that occurs the officer has to file a report.
On our tour of the police facility, we toured the communications room, processing areas, and prisoner cells. Our students learned about the technology used in the building and the police vehicles.
